By accessing or using the Research Targets website and database (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and **SCS Ventures, LLC**, a Delaware limited liability company ("we", "us", or "our"), doing business as Research Targets. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use or access the Service.
Research Targets provides a self-serve directory and lead enrichment database compiling publicly available data of Innovate UK grant winners, supplemented with active company statuses, decision-maker names, and SMTP-verified contact emails.
To access the database and export features, you must register for an account. Each purchase grants a **Single-User License (1 seat)**. The account and access credentials are assigned to a single named individual and may not be shared, pooled, or accessed concurrently by multiple users.
We monitor account activity (including concurrent sessions, geographic access patterns, and export velocities) to detect unauthorized sharing. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts violating these seat restrictions immediately without a refund.
Access to the Service requires a one-time purchase of £199 for Lifetime Access. All payments are processed securely via Stripe. You are responsible for any sales, use, value-added (VAT), or other taxes applicable to your purchase under your local jurisdiction.
Refund Policy: We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee. If you are unsatisfied with the Service, you can request a full refund within 7 days of purchase, provided that you have not exported any leads or contacts from the database. To request a refund, please contact us at [email protected].
You agree to use the Service in human-browsing mode via our provided user interface. Automated scraping, bulk scraping, or database harvesting using bots or automated scripts is strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to throttle, limit, or temporarily restrict export limits under a **Fair Use Policy** to protect database integrity and server performance.
Anti-Competitive Restriction: You may not use our database, service, or exports to build, enrich, verify, or compile any marketing directory, lead-generation tool, competitive database, or public/private contact directories.
All right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including but not limited to the website, design, layout, logo, code, database schemas, and proprietary algorithms, are and will remain the exclusive property of Research Targets and its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to use the database and exports for your internal business needs, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of our platform or codebase.
All database records and contact details are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we perform SMTP handshake verification, corporate contact records change frequently. We do not warrant that the database will be 100% error-free, that emails will not bounce, or that any outreach campaigns will succeed.
**We are not liable for any damages, including but not limited to email sender domain reputation damage, IP/domain blacklisting, or email service provider (ESP) account suspensions** arising from cold outreach or emails sent to contacts obtained through our Service.
Liability Cap: Under no circumstances shall Research Targets' total, aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Service exceed the actual amount paid by you to Research Targets (i.e., £199).
When downloading and using corporate contact details for marketing or outreach, **you act as the sole independent Data Controller** of that data. You are solely responsible for ensuring your outreach campaigns comply with all local regulations, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and CAN-SPAM (including offering visible opt-out options and identifying your business).
You agree to **indemnify, defend, and hold Research Targets harmless** from and against any and all claims, regulatory fines (including ICO investigations or fines), liabilities, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the data, outreach campaigns, or breach of applicable data protection laws.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to the Service shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Except for disputes that qualify for small claims court, all disputes, controversies, or claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively by binding arbitration administered by JAMS or the American Arbitration Association (AAA) in accordance with their commercial arbitration rules. The arbitration shall take place in Wilmington, Delaware, and the arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
Class Action Waiver: You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted solely on an individual basis, and you waive the right to participate in any class-action or representative lawsuit, or class-wide arbitration. You may opt-out of this mandatory arbitration clause within 30 days of purchasing a license by emailing [email protected] with your opt-out request.
Where your purchase includes "Lifetime Access," this is defined as access to the Service for the operational lifetime of the Service itself. Research Targets reserves the right to discontinue, suspend, or terminate the Service at any time, with or without notice, in our sole discretion (e.g., due to business wind-down, platform retirement, or corporate restructuring), and "Lifetime Access" does not constitute a guarantee of perpetual availability or refund eligibility upon discontinuance.
